I want to use Xpadder to set my stick for BMS rather than faff around in BMS itself or edit the .key file manually.
However, the joystick buttons are by default mapped to commands and I don't know how to clear them. For instance, button 1 (Trigger) is mapped to Wpn-Fire Gun, button 2 to Wpn-Pickle and so on. I need to wipe these and map the buttons to keyboard commands in Xpadder, but the only matching lines in my .key file are
SimTrigger -1 0 0X35 0 0 0 1 'Wpn-Fire Gun'
SimPickle -1 0 0X39 0 0 0 1 'Wpn-Pickle'
I obviously don't want to just delete those lines as I imagine that will lose the keyboard bindings as well so how can I wipe all the joystick button mappings without touching the keyboard mappings?
What I plan to do is map Wpn-Fire Gun (i.e. /) to button 2 and use button 1 as a modifier (to shift sets in Xpadder) to make Button 2 become Wpn-Pickle (i.e Space), etc. Obviously this stick is rather limited in only having one hat, so I'd set that to Trim when unmodified and probably TMS when holding button 1. I'll also have to use a couple of other buttons to shift to further sets to use the hat for CMS and DMS.
I plan to use VAC to use voice commands to make up for the lack of physical controls where possible as well. Has anyone already made a VAC profile for the keyboard commands and not just the Comms?
Also, I could do with a list of the default BMS Key commands as well if anyone has one, which will help in setting up both Xpadder and VAC. Not a graphical keymap but just a list like:
Pickle - Space
Fire Gun - /
Ctrl + Alt + Shift + W - Reset Master Warning
Lastly, I'm not certain I've got a virgin copy of the default BMS keyfile (I've got BMS.key.bak which has a last modified date of ‎15 ‎July ‎2011) so if someone could upload a copy, that'd be great.
